design.md & templates
Your company’s design guide, design.md, is the house style every connected agent reads before it makes something visual. A report from Claude Code and a prototype from Codex come out looking like one company made them.
What the guide contains
design.md is a Markdown document: your colors, type, layout rules, logo and writing voice, with a small structured block of design tokens. Signed-in people can read it on the Design page of your workspace, next to its colors, type and logo assets.
How agents use it
- Your agent calls
overto_designand receives your company’sdesign.mdtogether with the list of available templates. - The Overto skills tell your agent to read it before creating or revising visual work.
- Every connected agent reads the same guide, whichever harness it runs in.
Reading the guide grants no access to anything else. Agents still need project permissions to read or publish work.
Templates
Templates give your team and your agents a starting point:
- Built-in starters. Overto includes starters such as a slide deck and a post-mortem. Your agent can open one with
overto_design. - Your own templates. Any publication tagged
templateappears under Collections → Templates. Use Publish a template, or Label as template on an existing publication. Agents read them withoverto_artifact_read.
