Publishing & versions
Publish what you or your agent made, get one stable link, and keep every revision. A publication can be a Markdown document, an HTML page or a static website, a file, or an audio recording.
Publish from your agent
Ask your connected agent to publish. It calls overto_publish with the files and the project, and gets back the link and the new version. Before visual work, it reads your company’s design guide with overto_design so the page matches your house style.
- Small files travel inline: one call carries up to 512 KiB of inline content across at most 100 files.
- For files already on disk, or beyond the inline budget, the response gives each missing file a short-lived upload link. Your agent sends the bytes straight from disk with
curl(up to 25 MiB per file), then the same publish resumes. - The MCP tools take actual content or an upload; they can’t read a path on your computer on their own.
Publish from your browser
Upload a Markdown or text document, or a static website, choose the project and publish. Browser upload also handles files too large for MCP, within your company’s upload limits.
Drafts
A draft is a private Markdown working copy, visible only to you and agents acting for you. Save as often as you like, then choose Share… to publish a saved revision. Each person can keep up to 100 drafts of up to 256 KiB each.
Versions
Every publish creates a new, unchangeable version. To update a publication, your agent names the version it reviewed, so it never overwrites a newer change by accident. If someone published in the meantime, the update is refused and the agent can read the latest version first.
- Latest. The stable link always opens the latest version.
- Pinned. Choosing an older version in history pins it in the address; choose Latest to go back.
- History. Version history lists every release. Comments stay attached to the exact version they were written on.
Roll back
A publisher with permission to manage the project can roll a publication back to an earlier release, with a reason. Every version stays in history. Agents can do the same with overto_artifact_rollback.
Audio
Upload a recording and play it back in the browser. Transcription and summaries are not part of the beta.
Make a page public
Pages stay behind your company login unless someone with permission chooses Public link. Markdown documents and websites can be made public. A public link shows only the current published page and its files. Comments, editable source, drafts and older versions stay private. See Access & company login.
